Von Miller is passionate about glasses. Sure, he’s also the star linebacker for the Denver Broncos and was named the MVP of Superbowl LI. But his passion about glasses is a whole other story.

Von has had to wear glasses for most of his life. Before he discovered he had poor vision, he was unable to read the chalkboard in school. However, because he didn’t know any different than his poor vision, he didn’t say anything, and it greatly impacted his performance in school. It wasn’t until his first eye screening did he learn about his poor vision, and then he got a pair of glasses that changed his life forever.

In 2013 he founded Von’s Vision, a nonprofit that provides low-income children in Denver with the eye care and corrective eyewear they need to be their best in the classroom and in life. A donation of $20 to Von’s Vision provides one child a pair of glasses.

Last week was the 2017 Von’s Vision Day, an annual event at Mile High stadium. The nonprofit partners with national and regional eyewear retailers to provide glasses and care for the city-wide vision day. 100 children and their parents attended the event, met Von, and received the glasses they need to succeed in life.

Von’s next fundraiser, the Go-Kart Grand Prix, will take place on June 8, 2017 their annual Go-Kart. Learn more about this unique event and find out how you can get involved here!
